2015: South-South resolve to stand united against the North

It was a new beginning in the South- South yesterday when the leaders and elders  of the region converged and unanimously resolved their differences and went ahead to resolve on the need to team up in order to form a formidable force against northern politicians who are bent at unseating President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 elections.
The leaders and elders of the region who took this decision at the general meeting of the South-South Peoples Assembly, SSPA, the umbrella body of the zone held in Warri, had their different representatives at the
meeting from across the six states of the zone.
Expressing his joy over what he had termed positive development, the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan had stated that the governors of the 6 states within the region would continue to play the role of humble servants by supporting the region towards maintaining the new peace and love that glow among them.
He further advised the body to take a critical look at land and boarder cases in the region, particularly the case between Cross-River and Akwa- Ibom State over oil, and proffer a lasting solution to the dispute.
Those who attended the meeting among other people were former military administrator of Niger State, Brigadier-General Cletus Emein (rtd); former Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro; and former governor of Akwa-Ibom/deputy chair, SSPA, Idongesit Nkanga, national leader of the zone and former Federal Minister of Information, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark; first civilian governor of Edo State and national chairman of SSPA, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun; first civilian governor of Delta State, Olorogun (Senator) Felix Ibru; former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha;
Also in attendance were Dr Brown Adasen, all former SSPA chairs in Edo, Cross River and Delta states; former governorship aspirant in Bayelsa State, Chief Francis Doukpola; top female politician, Dr Esther Uduehi ,  Wing Commander Peter Biakpara (rtd).   Senators Roland Owie, Francis Okpozo, Patrick Osakwe, Stella Omu,  Francis Nwajei, Tare Sekibo and Lee Maeba;  former provost marshal of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier-General Don Idada Ikponmwen and Elder Ambrose Akpanika,
Addressing the people, Chief Edwin Clark had stated that he was worried prior to the meeting, over the unhealthy state of the region due to the differences he noticed lately, but however expressed satisfaction over the turnout and the positive spirit the people had developed in order to live as one indivisible region.
